Triggering the box office journey on humongous note, newly released Malayalam film ‘Ramaleela’ garnered a walloping amount of Rs 7 crore in three days. Directed by Arun Gopy, the south Indian movie witnessed huge response from the audiences on first day of its release. Receiving steady response from the film-watchers, the celluloid bagged a whopping box office collection in the opening weekend.
Starting from day 1, ‘Ramaleela’ received good response from the spectators. With a positive word of mouth, ‘Mulakuppadam Films’ production witnessed moderate occupancy in the cinema halls across the Kerala state. The theatre occupancy didn’t remain constant throughout the first weekend. The movie faced tremendous growth in the earnings on Saturday and Sunday.
Adjacently released Malayalam movies didn’t impact the business of ‘Ramaleela’. Featuring Dileep, Prayaga Martin, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Mukesh, Siddique and Renji Panicker in leading characters, the multi-starrer south Indian offering experienced helm box office competition with Mahesh Babu and S J Suriya’s latest bilingual celluloid ‘Spyder’.
Directed by ace filmmaker A R Murugadoss, the spy thriller celluloid raked in a thumping income of Rs 142 crore in three days. The action flick had a great weekend after its release and grabbed good position in the list of highest earner Tamil-Telugu movies of the year. Becoming a sensational blockbuster, Jr NTR starrer ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ too achieved a satisfactory rank in the same list.
