Newly released Bollywood movie ‘Chef’ earned Rs 10.5 crore box office collection on opening day. Releasing on 1570 screens in India, the Hindi offering witnessed poor occupancy in the morning, noon, evening and night shows on the first day of its release. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, the Bollywood celluloid is expected to improve its overall performance in the weekend days.
Hitting 327 screens in overseas, the low budget cinema didn’t receive a huge response from the foreign audiences. Performance of the film in international arena failed to meet the filmmakers expectations. Releasing on total 1897 screens across the globe, the comedy movie didn’t manage to earn the expected box office amount on the 1st day.
Featuring Saif Ali Khan, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Sachin Kamble, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Dhanish Karthik, Dinesh Prabhakar, Shayan Munshi and Russell Peters in prominent roles, the Hindi flick made a decent business on Friday. Receiving moderate response from the film-watchers in India as well as in the foreign countries, the Bollywood film minted a poor total business.
Commencing the box office journey on decent note, the celluloid witnessed average occupancy in the morning shows on opening day. Public response for the movie didn’t remain steady throughout the day and declined gradually in the later shows. However, the film managed to get mixed reviews and an average feedback from the audiences. Latest box office figures are awaited.
